<text>Abstract: The incorporation of adhesive techniques as a standard of care into the dental clinic workflow has modified virtually every stage of dental treatment, from diagnosis to restoration maintenance. In the case of indirect restorations, adhesive luting aims to integrate the restorative unit with the remaining tooth structure and any materials used to prepare the tooth. The fundamental aspects for achieving clinical success in esthetic bonded restorations include: identifying the required bond strength for each case; controlling the operating field (including water vapor from exhaled air); preparing the substrate to maximize the preservation of tooth structure and minimize shear and flexural stresses; selecting the appropriate luting material or cement based on the thickness and transmittance of the restorative material; treating the internal surface of the restoration and the dental (and non-dental) substrate to generate mechanical and/or chemical interaction with the chosen cement according to the corresponding protocol; and checking the occlusion. The diversity of materials and adhesives currently available, together with the technique sensitivity of the procedure, has generated considerable variability in clinical luting protocols. In this context, the present consensus based on the best available scientific evidence proposes a systematization of the clinical steps involved in the adhesive luting of indirect esthetic restorations, with the aim of promoting more predictable and reproducible procedures in dental practice.</text>

<text>Abstract: This study compared the time required, technique difficulty, and longevity of occlusal restorations in vital primary molars using high and low viscosity bulk-fill resins. The occlusal restorations were performed on enamel and dentin lesions on vital primary molars without mobility, with enough remaining dental structure to bear occlusal forces, and a depth not exceeding 4 mm in patients aged 2 to 10 years. The molars were randomly assigned to high viscosity bulk-fill (Control Group - BF) and low viscosity bulk-fill (Experimental Group - BFF). Three operators evaluated the restorations clinically (Kappa > 0.7) at baseline and six months based on modified RYGE/USPHS criteria. A total of 67 preparations were made in 54 patients (mean age 7,09±1,95 years) with no differences in the dimensions of the cavity preparations. The required time was shorter for BFF (p=0,001). The manipulation difficulty was rated 2,33±0,57 for BF and 1+0,00 for BFF on the Likert scale. At six months, marginal discoloration, margin integrity, and absence of secondary caries were satisfactory in both groups. Clinical performance showed no significant differences between the groups (p>0,05). In this sample, the clinical performance of low-viscosity bulk fill resins was found to be acceptable, with a significant reduction in operative time and a lower difficulty index. Longer-term evaluations will be necessary to further assess the results.</text>

Materiales y Métodos: Se seleccionaron 9 premolares humanos sanos.

<text>Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the presence of marginal gap expressed in mm, of the walls of the proximal box in proximal-occlusal preparations (PPO) of the posterior sector, with direct adhesive resins analyzed by computed microtomography (μCT). Materials and Methods: Nine healthy human premolars were selected. Two PPOs were prepared for each tooth, one mesial and one distal, (n: 18) 3 mm deep by 3 mm wide, with an ISO 845kr iso 026 stone of medium and fine grain, under water cooling. Three PPO were made per stone. They were fixed with modeling compound in a plastic model, with neighboring teeth, to simulate the spatial arrangement of the dental arch. The tooth substrate was treated with the Universal Adhesive System Single Bond Universal 3M. It was light-cured, in high mode/1200 mv/cm2, with the Grand Valo unit, Ultradent. They were divided into 3 groups, 6 samples each: -Group I, nanoparticle resin Z 350 3M, in oblique increments less than 2 mm and polymerizing each one 20 s. -Group II, resin Filtek Bulk Fill 3M, in a single increment, polymerizing 40s per face of the restoration. Group III, Paracore, Coltene in a single increment, polymerizing 40 s per face. The established protocols according to the manufacturer were followed. The samples of the preparations and restorations were scanned using a microtomograph (Bruker Skyscan 1272). The gaps of the free walls of the proximal box were quantified, in mm, in 3 points, gingival, middle, and occlusal on the cavity margins (myVGL 3.5) measured from the cavo surface of the preparation to the restorative material in horizontal sense. The data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Student Newman Keuls test. Results: In groups I, II, and III, the mean (SD) of the gaps (mm) was 6.5 (1), 6.1 (1.14), and 5.75 (0.61), respectively (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Under the conditions of this study, we can infer that no statistically significant differences were observed between the groups.</text>

<text>Abstract: The aim of this article was to compare, in a clinical case, the performance of the doublecord technique and a retraction paste system for gingival displacement, analyzing their impact on the capture of preparation margins in conventional and digital impressions. Clinical report: A 44-yearold female patient was referred to the Department of Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Medium and High Complexity (FOUBA) for full oral rehabilitation. During the definitive maxillary impression, different gingival displacement systems were used in each hemiarch: double-cord technique (Ultrapack® 000 and 0 with 25% aluminum chloride hexahydrate) on the right side, and a paste system (Traxodent®, 15% aluminum chloride) on the left. Impressions were obtained using a two-step addition silicone conventional technique and intraoral scanning. In the conventional impression, the hydraulic pressure of the material facilitated marginal recording regardless of the retraction method. In the digital impression, the displacement achieved with the paste system was insufficient for adequate visualization of the preparation margins. The double-cord technique provided greater mechanical control and field stability, although at the expense of increased clinical time and tissue manipulation. As this is a single clinical case, further studies with larger sample sizes and statistical analysis are necessary to confirm and generalize these findings.</text>

<text>Abstract: Endodontics has significantly advanced in techniques for the preparation and disinfection of root canals, improving clinical outcomes even in cases with severe periapical involvement. However, the fracture of instruments during endodontic procedures adds complexity to the treatment, with a possibility of failure if the treatment cannot be correctly executed. This case report describes the endodontic resolution of a 14-year-old female patient with an apical lesion in teeth 2.1 and 2.2, and with a fractured bur in the root canal of tooth 2.1. A cone-beam computed tomography scan was performed to assess the lesion and the fractured instrument, followed by endodontic treatment that included the successful removal of the fractured bur using magnification and micro-instruments. After this, both teeth were conventionally treated, and at the two-year follow-up, the patient was asymptomatic, with complete bone healing of the apical lesion. This case highlights the importance of meticulous planning and the use of magnification in endodontics to achieve optimal clinical outcomes, even in technically and biologically challenging situations.</text>

<text>Abstract: The dental clinical history constitutes a document of known legal value that enables the comprehensive recording of the physiological and pathological characteristics of the oral cavity, related tissues and therapeutic interventions. Although its design and nomenclature have not been globally unified, in some sectors progress has been made in its standardization, a fact that contributes to optimizing it for epidemiological, legal and forensic purposes. The Argentine Antarctic Sector is part of the territory of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands and consists of 13 military bases, of which 11 are administered by the Ministry of Defense through the Joint Antarctic Command, highlighting the presence of the three Armed Forces, Army, Air Force and Navy, either in short summer campaigns or extensive winter campaigns, respectively, maintaining joint work with researchers from civil departments, promoting scientific development in such latitudes. The correct establishment of the characteristics inherent to the stomatognathic system of those uniformed personnel who fulfill their assignment in places so far from the continent, represents an essential requirement due to the potential risks to their physical integrity that the fulfillment of the mission entails. In cases of fatal victims, the application of traditional identification methodologies is often unfeasible, so having complete and updated dental records will allow ante-mortem post-mortem matching to be carried out, providing concrete possibilities of obtaining unequivocal identity. This report describes the design of the dental clinical history approved in 2023 in the Military Health of the bases dependent on the Joint Antarctic Command, reflecting on the interest of generating a reliable computerized dental repository that directs human identification processes with speed and verisimilitude.</text>

<text>Abstract: Introduction: The dentigerous cyst is one of the most frequent developmental odontogenic lesions, classified by the World Health Organization as an epithelial cyst of odontogenic origin. It is associated with unerupted teeth, particularly mandibular third molars and maxillary canines, and is often diagnosed incidentally during radiographic examinations. Objective: To describe the clinical, radiographic, histopathological, and therapeutic characteristics of the dentigerous cyst, integrating updated evidence and presenting a clinical case. Material and Methods: A narrative review of the recent literature was conducted, including clinical studies, systematic reviews, case reports, and international classification documents, with emphasis on articles published between 2015 and 2025. Additionally, a clinical case treated according to scientific evidence is presented. Development: Literature reports indicate that dentigerous cyst shows a predilection for young patients and is generally asymptomatic. Radiographically, it appears as a well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion surrounding the crown of an impacted tooth. Its differential diagnosis includes entities such as the odontogenic keratocyst and ameloblastoma. The standard treatment is surgical enucleation with tooth extraction; however, in pediatric patients, marsupialization may promote eruption of the associated tooth. In extensive lesions or those involving critical anatomical structures, combined surgical approaches may be considered. The management of the dentigerous cyst requires an integrated approach combining clinical, radiological, and histopathological evaluation. The use of tools such as CBCT optimizes treatment and reduces morbidity. Following the literature review, the case of a 13-yearold girl is presented, in which a radiolucent image is identified in a panoramic radiograph indicated to evaluate the presence of retained molars, which after tomographic studies and anatomopathological analysis was diagnosed as a dentigerous cyst.</text>

</text>

In humans, transmission occurs mainly through the ingestion of contaminated food or direct contact with the feces of infected cats. The infection can present a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations; however, in immunocompetent individuals, it often runs asymptomatically or with mild symptoms, such as cervical lymphadenopathy. This report describes the case of a 27-year-old otherwise healthy male patient who consulted in a dental setting due to the persistent presence of palpable lymph nodes in the cervical region for three months, accompanied by fatigue and decreased physical endurance. Complementary studies were requested, including neck ultrasound, lymph node biopsy, and serology, which confirmed the diagnosis of lymphadenopathic toxoplasmosis. The patient was informed about the nature of the disease, its mode of transmission, and preventive measures. He was referred to general medicine for systemic treatment, where trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole was prescribed for 21 days, with outpatient clinical follow-up resulting in resolution. This case highlights the importance of the dentist’s role in the early identification of clinical signs that may be related to systemic diseases, as well as the value of integrating complementary diagnostic tests in the dental setting to achieve an accurate diagnosis. The relevance of an interdisciplinary approach in the comprehensive care of the patient is also emphasized. </text>

<text>Abstract: Clinical dentistry has been facing the challenge of replacing lost dentine for years. Due to its high biocompatibility, longevity, dentin adhesion and excellent mechanical properties tricalcium silicate, which acts as a bioactive dentin substitute, has been proposed as a pulp capping material especially for immature posterior ́s permanent teeth. Pulp capping represents an important mechanism for maintaining pulp vitality and function from a clinical and biological point of view, to complete root development and apical closure. The report of a patient’s case with a first immature permanent molar and deep caries is presented. After caries ́s removal and partial pulpotomy, direct pulp capping was conducted with tricalcium silicate and restored with a composite resin. In the clinical remote control three years after treatment, normal response to the pulp sensitivity test and absence of spontaneous and percussion pain were observed. The periapical radiography showed an image compatible with the formation of a dentinal bridge and root wall thickening in the periapical area. In this clinical case the tricalcium silicate has proven to be effective for the conservative treatment of pulp vitality.</text>
