Description An account of the resource Resumen: El secado es uno de los factores clave para lograr una adhesión micromecánica exitosa en la dentina con los sistemas adhesivos de grabado independiente. El objetivo de este trabajo fue comparar los residuos remanentes luego de cuatro procedimientos diferentes de secado en preparaciones ex vivo en dentina. Se utilizaron cinco terceros molares ex-vivo, en cada uno de los cuales se realizó una preparación dentinaria en piso y paredes con al menos un socavado. Las unidades experimentales fueron almacenadas en solución fisiológica durante 7 días. Las distintas técnicas de secado (G1- G8) se aplicaron, luego de que las preparaciones fueron tratadas con gel de ácido fosfórico al 37% (Blue Gel etch Megadental) durante 15s y lavadas con jeringa y agua a presión durante 15s (Técnica de Grabado Ácido o TGA), de la siguiente manera: algodón común (Condesa) (G1), papel tisú (Achiss) cortado a mano (G2) y con tijera (G3), esponja (Sharpys) (G4), papel tisú (Simplicity) cortado a mano G5) y con tijera (G6), papel tisú (Wav) cortado a mano (G7) y con tijera (G8). En cada uno de los casos, inmediatamente antes de cada TGA y después del secado se observaron las distintas preparaciones mediante un microscopio (Carl Zeiss Axio Imager A1m) a un aumento de 5X y 10X y con una cámara (Nikon D7000, Lente AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm) para evaluar cantidad y calidad de residuos en la superficie dentinaria. Resultados: La cantidad de unidades contaminantes/ preparación estuvieron en los siguientes rangos: de 0-3 en G1 y G6, de 2-5 en G2, de 0-7 en G3 y G4, de 0-4 en G5, de 0-5 en G7, de 3-7 en G8. La totalidad de las técnicas de secado dejaron residuos. Abstract: Drying is one of the key factors for achieving successful micromechanical adhesion in dentin with etch and rinse adhesive systems. The aim of the present study was to compare the remaining residues after four different blot-drying procedures in preparations in ex-vivo dentine. Five ex-vivo third molars were used, each of them were prepared with the pulpal floor and cavity walls in dentine, and at least one undercut. The experimental units were stored in physiological solution for 7 days. Then, the different blot-drying techniques (G1-G8) were applied, after each preparation was treated with 37% phosphoric acid gel (Blue Gel etch Megadental) for 15s, washed with water syringe under pressure for 15s, then as follows: regular cotton (Condesa) (G1), tissue paper (Achiss) cut by hand (G2) and with scissors (G3), sponge (Sharpys) (G4), tissue (Simplicity) cut by hand (G5) and with scissors (G6), tissue (Wav)) cut by hand (G7) and with scissors (G8). In each case, immediately before each etching procedure and after drying, the different preparations were observed with a microscope (Carl Zeiss Axio Imager A1m) at 5X and 10X to evaluate presence, quantity and quality of residues on the dentin surface. Results: The amount of contaminating units / preparation was in the following ranges: from 0-3 in G1 and G6, from 2-5 in G2, from 0-7 in G3 and G4, from 0-4 in G5, from 0-5 in G7, from 3-7 in G8.
