Se describe el caso de una paciente de sexo femenino de 79 años con una formación vegetante que se extiende desde el polo inferior amigdalino izquierdo hasta surco glosoepiglótico homolateral y pared lateral de hipofaringe, con diagnóstico de carcinoma epidermoide poco diferenciado invasor. Se realizó la resección del tumor bajo anestesia general en el Hospital Sirio Libanés en mayo de 2019. La técnica de mandibulotomía utilizada en este caso clínico permitió acceder a la cavidad oral y orofaringe para la resección de un tumor no accesible a través de la boca abierta. Abstract: Objective: To describe the mandibulotomy technique for resection of an oncological lesion. Clinical case: The mandibulotomy technique was described in a 79-year-old female patient with a vegetative formation that extends from the lower left tonsillar pole to the ipsilateral glossoepiglottic sulcus and lateral wall of the hypopharynx, with a diagnosis of invasive poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The tumor resection was performed under general anesthesia at Hospital Sirio Libanes in May 2019. The mandibulotomy technique used in this clinical case allowed access to the oral cavity and the oropharynx for the resection of a non-accessible tumor through the open mouth. Fil: Carlomagno, Y. D.
