Description An account of the resource Resumen: La historia clínica odontológica constituye un documento de consabido valor legal que posibilita el registro integral de las características fisiológicas y patológicas de la cavidad oral, tejidos relacionados e intervenciones terapéuticas. Si bien su diseño y nomenclatura no se han unificado globalmente, en algunos estamentos se ha avanzado en su estandarización, hecho que contribuye a optimizarla con fines epidemiológicos, legales y forenses. El Sector Antártico Argentino forma parte del territorio de la Provincia de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur y consta de 13 bases militares, de las cuales 11 son administradas por el Ministerio de Defensa a través del Comando Conjunto Antártico, destacándose la presencia de las tres Fuerzas Armadas, Ejército, Fuerza Aérea y Armada, ya sea en campañas breves de verano o extensas de invierno, respectivamente, manteniendo un trabajo mancomunado con investigadores de reparticiones civiles, propendiendo al desarrollo científico en tales latitudes. El correcto asentamiento de los caracteres inherentes al sistema estomatognático de aquel personal uniformado que cumplimenta destino en sitios tan alejados del continente, representa un requisito esencial en virtud de los potenciales riesgos para su integridad física que conlleva el cumplimiento de la misión. En casos de víctimas fatales, muchas veces resulta inviable la aplicación de metodologías de identificación tradicionales, por lo que, disponer de registros odontológicos completos y actualizados, permitirá efectuar el cotejo ante mortem-post mortem, otorgando concretas posibilidades de obtener identidad inequívoca. El presente reporte describe el diseño de la historia clínica odontológica homologada en el año 2023 en la Sanidad Militar de las bases dependientes del Comando Conjunto Antártico, reflexionando respecto al interés de generar un repositorio dental informatizado confiable que direccione a procesos de identificación humana con celeridad y verosimilitud. Abstract: The dental clinical history constitutes a document of known legal value that enables the comprehensive recording of the physiological and pathological characteristics of the oral cavity, related tissues and therapeutic interventions. Although its design and nomenclature have not been globally unified, in some sectors progress has been made in its standardization, a fact that contributes to optimizing it for epidemiological, legal and forensic purposes. The Argentine Antarctic Sector is part of the territory of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands and consists of 13 military bases, of which 11 are administered by the Ministry of Defense through the Joint Antarctic Command, highlighting the presence of the three Armed Forces, Army, Air Force and Navy, either in short summer campaigns or extensive winter campaigns, respectively, maintaining joint work with researchers from civil departments, promoting scientific development in such latitudes. The correct establishment of the characteristics inherent to the stomatognathic system of those uniformed personnel who fulfill their assignment in places so far from the continent, represents an essential requirement due to the potential risks to their physical integrity that the fulfillment of the mission entails. In cases of fatal victims, the application of traditional identification methodologies is often unfeasible, so having complete and updated dental records will allow ante-mortem post-mortem matching to be carried out, providing concrete possibilities of obtaining unequivocal identity. This report describes the design of the dental clinical history approved in 2023 in the Military Health of the bases dependent on the Joint Antarctic Command, reflecting on the interest of generating a reliable computerized dental repository that directs human identification processes with speed and verisimilitude.
