Description An account of the resource Resumen: La digitalización de los procesos diagnósticos y de planificación terapéutica ha impulsado una modernización significativa en la ortodoncia. El uso de tecnología CAD-CAM, es un sistema que integra el Diseño Asistido por Computadora (CAD) y la Fabricación Asistida por Computadora (CAM) para diseñar y producir objetos, y la incorporación de tratamientos con alineadores representan una respuesta concreta a la creciente demanda estética de muchos pacientes. Sin embargo, es bien sabido que la predictibilidad de los tratamientos con alineadores puede variar según el tipo de movimiento requerido, el diseño y el material de las placas, entre otros factores. Para aumentar esta predictibilidad, la literatura actual recomienda la implementación de tratamientos híbridos, que combinan alineadores con dispositivos complementarios. En este trabajo presentamos dos casos clínicos de pacientes con maloclusión clase II bilateral, en los cuales se aplicó un protocolo de tratamiento en una sola fase para la corrección del componente sagital. Se utilizó el dispositivo Carriere® Motion 3D™ para clase II, en combinación con alineadores fabricados in office en la Facultad de Odontología de la UBA (FOUBA), mediante el software Nemocast. Esta estrategia permitió optimizar los movimientos de distalización, aumentando su predictibilidad y reduciendo el tiempo total de tratamiento. Abstract: The digitalization of diagnostic and treatment planning processes has led to significant modernization in the field of orthodontics. The use of CAD-CAM technology is a system that integrates Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to design and produce objects, and the incorporation of clear aligner treatments provide a concrete response to the growing aesthetic demands of many patients. However, it is well known that the predictability of treatments with aligners may vary depending on the type of tooth movement, the design, and the material of the aligners, among other factors. To enhance predictability, current literature recommends hybrid treatment approaches that combine aligners with additional orthodontic devices. In this report, we present two clinical cases of patients with bilateral Class II malocclusion, in which a single-phase treatment protocol was applied to correct the sagittal discrepancy. The Carriere® Motion 3DTM Class II appliance was used in combination with in-office aligners manufactured at the School of Dentistry, University of Buenos Aires (FOUBA), using Nemocast software.
