Description An account of the resource Resumen: Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron evaluar el tiempo requerido, la dificultad de la técnica y el desempeño clínico de restauraciones atípicas realizadas en molares primarios y permanentes con hipomineralización molar utilizando una resina compuesta bioactiva. Se incluyeron en el estudio pacientes que concurrieron por demanda espontánea de atención con lesiones de caries amelodentinarias en molares primarios vitales o con tratamiento pulpar previo y/o molares permanentes vitales con hipomineralización severa. Se utilizó Cention®N (Ivoclar Vivadent) con aplicación previa de adhesivo 3M™ Single Bond Universal en esmalte y dentina y fotopolimerización. El comportamiento clínico de todas las restauraciones se registró en condiciones basales y semestralmente con los criterios RYGE/USPHS de Ryge modificados y la evaluación del proceso de manipulación a través de una escala Likert. La muestra quedó conformada para molares primarios por 29 pacientes que recibieron 46 restauraciones, 26 vitales y 20 con tratamiento pulpar previo y para molares permanentes con 36 pacientes y 43 restauraciones, 31 oclusales y 12 de 2 o más superficies. Los resultados mostraron para las piezas primarias una tasa global de éxito de 97,4% a 12 meses y para las piezas con hipomineralización molar una tasa de supervivencia del 95,7% a los 18 meses. Se concluyó que Cention® N utilizado con sistema adhesivo y fotopolimerización mostró muy buen comportamiento en restauraciones de molares primarios de 2 o más superficies y en molares permanentes con hipomineralización. La manipulación resultó sencilla con tiempo de trabajo breve. Serán necesarios controles a más largo plazo. The study included patients seeking treatment for enamel-dentin carious lesions in vital primary molars or those with previous pulp treatments, as well as vital permanent molars with severe hypomineralization. Cention® N (Ivoclar Vivadent) was used after applying 3M™ Single Bond Universal adhesive to the enamel and dentin, followed by light curing. The clinical performance of all restorations was documented at baseline and every six months using modified Ryge/ USPHS criteria, along with an evaluation of the handling process on a Likert scale. The sample comprised 29 patients who received a total of 46 restorations in primary molars, 26 vital and 20 with prior pulp treatment and 36 patients with 43 restorations in permanent molars, 31 occlusal and 12 with two or more surfaces. The findings revealed an overall success rate of 97.4% at 12 months for primary teeth and a survival rate of 95.7% at 18 months for teeth with molar hypomineralization. The study concluded that Cention® N, when used with an adhesive system and light curing, demonstrated excellent performance in restoring primary molars with two or more surfaces as well as permanent molars with hypomineralization.
