Description An account of the resource En la búsqueda de antecedentes por la creación de la citada escuela, encontramos documentada esta iniciativa en la presentación efectuada en el año 1918, por los técnicos o mecánicos dentales, al entonces Consejero representante de la Escuela de Odontología Dr. Rodolfo Erausquin, quien lo elevó a la Universidad (pedía que se les enseñara y reconociera), pero ese mismo año se produce la reforma general del Estatuto Universitario, y al mismo tiempo una modificación en la Escuela de Odontología, creándose nuevas cátedras, entre ellas Técnica de Prótesis y dos años de Clínica Protésica, que al decir del Dr. J. Guardo, a la postre autor del proyecto de creación del Curso de Mecánicos para Dentistas: "Trataba de llegar al ideal norteamericano de especialización por materias, logrando como resultado un odontólogo protesista".
