La fase inorgánica constituida por la combinación de un biocerámico (60% de hidroxiapatita y 40% β-fosfato tricálcico sinterizado a altas temperaturas) y de vidrio bioactivo (5% en peso), que no afecta las propiedades mecánicas, generaría un efecto sinérgico promoviendo la osteopromoción y la activación de osteoblastos. Además la gelatina de Wharton como matriz orgánica rica en glicosaminoglicanos, especialmente el ácido hialurónico y colágeno tipo I, constituiría un hidrogel con capacidad osteoinductiva. Objetivo general: El objetivo general del presente estudio fue diseñar, sintetizar y caracterizar mecánica y biológicamente un nuevo BCO basado en una novedosa combinación bifásica (orgánica/inorgánica) para ser utilizado como andamio para ingeniería de tejido óseo.
