OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS 1) Evaluar el uso de histamina aplicada en forma local y tópica como estrategia terapéutica para atenuar los efectos destructivos de la periodontitis. 2) Estudiar si el tratamiento con histamina tópica en animales con periodontitis previene la hiposialia observada en tales condiciones; y el efecto directo de la histamina sobre la actividad secretora de la GSM. 3) Evaluar el efecto de la GSMx sobre el desarrollo de la enfermedad periodontal en ratas tratadas con histamina local y tópica. 4) Analizar el uso de ligandos selectivos del RH4 en forma local y tópica para el tratamiento de la periodontitis experimental.
